Themes in Respect to the Candidates.
That the populace would not let itself be fooled
again by Moncada. That Nicaragua has been
capacitated to direct the destinies of the
nation without the necessity of confiding in
Moncada, who has several times proved himself to
be a traitor. That we will back no
caudillo who proclaims himself, because then we
would be in danger of dictatorship, and we
permit ourselves to invite the public to
meditate well in electing their candidates, and
that they choose men who can defend with loyalty
the principles of our credo and the interests of
the country in general. That they can fix
their looks on patriotic personalities, such as
the gentlemen: Dr. Escolástico
Lara, don Sofonías
Salvatierra, and others of the type.
