This page is envisioned as the homepage for
reports, letters, photographs, and other materials from
the Rockefeller Archive Center's collection on the
Rockefeller Foundation's philanthropic public health
initiatives in Nicaragua, from their beginnings in 1915
until I stopped looking after the mid-1930s. I
wish again to extend my thanks to the Rockefeller
Archive Center's generous Grant-in-Aid, which allowed me
to work in their archives for a full week in January
2006, and for the professionalism and hospitality of the
