Gral. Sandino.
Col. Carlos Salgado with an armed force is controlling
the District of Somoto; and they destroyed a
Yankee detachment at Condega. The town was
left empty, and there were many dead. It
is known that the Constabulary is being
mobilized from Managua; that near Santa María
there is another chief with Liberal arms; that
since yesterday the telegraphic communcation
with Managua has been interrupted, and that it
is urgent to enlist volunteers to take the
offensive.
