Cuartel "El Trabon" January 9, 1930.

   To General Pedro Altamirano.

   My Esteemed and Respected Jefe:

After sending my best regards to you and your family with the wishes that you all are enjoying good health, I beg your pardon in case the contents of this letter mean an offense, but I want to inform you that I received your respectable letter and I understand all that you say to me. I am well aware of the cause we are defending, but we are unable to do all we want, which is to triumph and see our country free. I again request that you attend to my request, and now I would like to know if you have no inconvenience for doing so, as I want to marry her as soon as we finish with this cause and our country is free, and this will be the happiness of my life, but I repeat my dear General that you excuse me for talking about this matter which I don't know if it should be an offense for you.

This is all I want to say, and repeating my expressions of loyalty and ever ready to serve you, I beg to remain,

   Very respectfully yours,

   Patria y Libertad

   /s/ Fernando Morales Davila
